General Description
The Cooper & Hunter 1.5–2.0 Ton Front Return Air Handler is engineered for reliability and flexibility in residential and light commercial cooling applications. Designed as part of the Top Discharge Split System lineup, this air handler pairs with compatible Cooper & Hunter outdoor condensing units to deliver efficient, consistent cooling performance using R-32 refrigerant.
Built with a fully-insulated cabinet to achieve 2% or less air leakage, the unit features a multi-stage ECM blower motor for quiet, energy-conscious airflow control. The 4-position multi-position design allows for flexible installation to fit a wide range of mechanical room configurations. An integrated filter rack with toolless door access simplifies routine maintenance, while the dual front panel with volute and coil slide track ensures easy serviceability.
The A-shaped coil with inner-grooved copper tubing and hydrophilic fins maximizes heat transfer efficiency, and the advanced internal welding process reduces the potential for corrosion over time. Horizontal and vertical condensate drain pans offer added installation versatility. Optional electric heater kits (5 kW and 7.5 kW) are available as accessories for supplemental heating. Compatible with all 3rd-party 24V wall thermostats. AHRI and ETL listed.
