General Description
The Cooper & Hunter 4.0 Ton Top Discharge Condensing Unit (CH-UC48-230VO) is a heavy-duty outdoor unit built for high-capacity residential and commercial cooling applications. Part of the Top Discharge Split System lineup, it pairs with compatible Cooper & Hunter air handlers and operates on environmentally responsible R-32 refrigerant.
Powered by a scroll compressor, this unit delivers powerful, consistent cooling performance across a wide operating temperature range of 54°F to 120°F, making it an excellent choice for demanding hot climate installations. The scroll compressor technology offers quieter operation, improved energy efficiency, and enhanced long-term durability compared to rotary designs at this capacity level. The PSC outdoor fan motor ensures robust airflow and efficient heat rejection, while the top-discharge cabinet design promotes effective air circulation even in space-constrained outdoor environments. The unit arrives pre-charged with R-32 refrigerant and supports extended pipe runs of up to 147 feet with a maximum elevation difference of 65 feet, providing excellent installation flexibility for larger properties.
The single-phase 230V electrical configuration simplifies wiring for standard service connections, and the heavy-duty cabinet construction is designed to withstand the demands of continuous high-capacity outdoor operation. An R-32 refrigerant sensor ensures safe operation throughout. AHRI and ETL listed.
